Overview

n0n0gram.com (“we”, “us”) is a free puzzle game. We collect minimal data and do not sell personal information.

Data we store locally

Your in-progress puzzle state, solved puzzle history, and daily streak are stored in your browser's localStorage. This gameplay data stays on your device; leaderboard submissions and aggregate gameplay events are described below.

Leaderboards

To show daily and monthly rankings, the game sends a small amount of data to our servers (hosted on Upstash): a randomly generated device identifier, your chosen nickname, the puzzle number, and your solve time. The identifier is a random value created in your browser — it is not linked to your name, email, or any account, and we have no way to connect it to you personally. Nicknames are public on the leaderboards, so pick one you are comfortable sharing. No email address is collected and no account is required. An essential secure, HTTP-only session cookie authenticates your leaderboard submissions for up to one year. Public player identifiers cannot be used to change another player’s nickname. Existing browser history stays local; older unauthenticated leaderboard identities are not transferred because their ownership cannot be verified.

Aggregate gameplay measurement

We count puzzle starts, completions, failures, onboarding actions, share actions and failed score submissions, grouped by game mode and grid size. These first-party counts contain no player identifier, nickname, exact solve time or saved board and expire after 90 days. A daily-changing network-address digest limits abuse and expires within 24 hours. These counts do not identify returning players. We respect the browser Do Not Track setting for this collection. Development and preview deployments are excluded.

Cookies & Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookieless service that measures aggregate traffic (pages visited, country, device type) without tracking individuals or storing personal data.

Vercel Speed Insights measures page loading, layout stability and responsiveness to help us improve the web experience.

We also use Google AdSense to serve ads. AdSense may set cookies and collect usage data to show relevant ads, subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

Cookies are used for essential leaderboard authentication and by advertising partners. You can opt out of personalised advertising via Google Ad Settings.

Children's privacy

This site is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
